ATLAS Scan ("the app") is an attendance check-in kiosk for schools and institutions that use the ATLAS platform. The app is published by QLD Holdings, LLC and developed by The Horizon Works Group. This policy explains what the app does with data.

What the app does

The app uses the device camera only to read a student's QR code, which contains an opaque attendance token — a random identifier with no personal information (no name, no student ID, no PII). When a code is read, the app sends an attendance scan event to your institution's ATLAS server to record a check-in or check-out.

Data the app handles

  • Attendance scan token — the opaque code on the student's QR, sent to your institution's ATLAS server to record check-in/check-out.
  • Scan timestamp, a source label, and an opaque device identifier used to attribute the scan to the kiosk device for audit purposes.

The app has no user accounts and no login. It does not collect names, contact information, location, or any personal profile from the device or its operator. Camera frames are processed on-device to detect the QR code and are not stored or transmitted — no photos or video are saved.

How data is used and shared

Scan data is sent only to your institution's own ATLAS backend to record attendance. With respect to that attendance data, QLD Holdings, LLC acts as a service provider to the institution, which controls its own records. The data is not sold, not shared for advertising, and not used to track users across other apps or websites. The app contains no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

Data retention

Attendance records are retained on the institution's ATLAS system per that institution's records policy. The app itself stores only a local queue of not-yet-delivered scans on the kiosk device, which is cleared once each scan is delivered to the server.

Children's privacy

ATLAS is an institutional system intended for use by adults (18 and older) and the staff who operate the kiosks. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
